Waking up in the morning is rough for many of us. It is always too early, and we want to sleep for just five more minutes. However, some of us also go through pain when we first wake up. This pain is due to our teeth shifting around when we sleep. This does not happen for no reason at all. Healthy teeth do not move around during the night. Instead, it is teeth that have some type of a problem nearby that is causing pressure. If Your Teeth Move, We Need to Know About ItWaking up to painful teeth means that something is off in your mouth. It could be that you have early signs of gum disease, and you may not even be aware of the problem yet. It could also be that you have been grinding or even clenching your teeth when you sleep. If your teeth are out of place when you wake up, biting down can be painful and your entire jaw may hurt. You need to let us know if this happens to you in the mornings. Some people also have teeth that shift around in their sleep because they snore. Their mouth is open all night long, drying their teeth and gums out. This can lead to tooth decay, among other issues, and can leave your teeth feeling off each morning. Let us know as soon as any of these problems show up. The quicker you let us know about this type of problem, the sooner we are able to start looking around for a solution. Plus, the sooner the issue is treated, the less likely it is to cause problems that last. Call our office today if you woke up with painful teeth this morning. It is not something you have to live with. We can help! |
